👪 Add your flock

Add your family members, each with their own color.

Give each person a name and pick a color — that's their identity in Flock. Every event assigned to them shows in that color across all views. The setup wizard makes this instant: type a name, pick a color, hit add.

📅 Sync your calendars

Connect your existing calendars. Flock does the rest.

The setup wizard prompts you to sync your existing calendars — paste an iCal URL from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Airbnb, a sports league, or any calendar feed. Flock pulls in all the events automatically and keeps them up to date in the background.

Already have years of events in another calendar? They'll all appear in Flock immediately. No re-entry, no copy-paste, no starting from zero.

📨 Invite your flock

Share a link and your family joins instantly.

The final setup step generates an invite link for your flock. Send it to your partner, your kids — anyone who should be able to see or update the calendar. They click the link, create an account, and they're in. No configuration needed on their end.

One link, doneShare via text, email, or AirDrop. They join your exact flock with the right access level.
Multi-Flock tooWant grandparents to follow along? They can join via a separate invite code and see your schedule in their own Flock view.

iCal Setup Guide

How to find your iCal link.

Every major calendar app can export a URL that Flock uses to sync your events. Here's exactly where to find it on each platform.

📅
Google Calendar
Personal & family calendars
  1. 1Open calendar.google.com in a browser.
  2. 2In the left sidebar, hover over the calendar you want to sync and click the three dots (⋮) that appear.
  3. 3Select Settings and sharing.
  4. 4Scroll down to the "Integrate calendar" section.
  5. 5Copy the "Secret address in iCal format" link. (Not the public URL — that only works for public calendars.)
  6. 6Paste it into Flock's calendar sync field.
Tip: Repeat for each family member's Google Calendar. Each person can share their own secret iCal URL with you.
🍎
Apple Calendar
iCloud calendars on iPhone, iPad & Mac
  1. 1On a Mac, open the Calendar app.
  2. 2Right-click (or Control-click) the calendar you want in the left sidebar.
  3. 3Select "Share Calendar…"
  4. 4Enable "Public Calendar" in the sharing sheet.
  5. 5Click "Copy Link" — the URL shown is your iCal feed.
  6. 6Paste it into Flock. (The link starts with webcal:// — Flock handles this automatically.)
Tip: You can also get this from iCloud.com → Calendar → click the broadcast icon next to any calendar.
📧
Outlook & Microsoft 365
Work, school, and personal Microsoft accounts
  1. 1Go to outlook.com and sign in.
  2. 2Click the calendar icon in the left nav to open the calendar view.
  3. 3Click the gear icon (⚙) at the top right → "View all Outlook settings".
  4. 4Go to Calendar → Shared calendars.
  5. 5Under "Publish a calendar", choose your calendar and set permissions, then click Publish.
  6. 6Copy the ICS link and paste it into Flock.
Note: Work or school Microsoft 365 accounts may restrict calendar publishing based on IT policy.
🏠
Airbnb
Host availability & booking calendars
  1. 1Log in to your Airbnb host account and go to your Listings.
  2. 2Select the listing you want to sync.
  3. 3Click Availability in the listing editor.
  4. 4Scroll to "Connect to another calendar" or "Export calendar".
  5. 5Click "Export Calendar" — Airbnb shows you a long iCal URL.
  6. 6Copy that URL and paste it into Flock's calendar sync. Your bookings will appear in your property row.
Tip: VRBO hosts — same idea. Go to your listing → Calendar → Export iCal, and paste the URL into Flock.

Any other calendar or app
Sports leagues, school apps, TeamSnap, Cozi, Fantastical, and more

If your calendar app supports iCal export (most do), you can sync it with Flock. Look for any of these in your app's settings:

  1. "Subscribe" or "Export" — most apps use one of these terms for sharing a calendar feed.
  2. A URL ending in .ics — any link that ends in .ics is a valid iCal feed Flock can sync.
  3. "webcal://" — links starting with webcal:// work too — paste them in as-is and Flock handles it.
  4. TeamSnap, SportsEngine — team calendars always include a "Subscribe to iCal" link. Copy it and paste into Flock.

Common Questions

Things people ask before they start.

Do all family members need their own account?

No. One person creates and manages the Flock account. Other family members can be added as editors or viewers without needing their own login. Kids can appear on the calendar without any account at all.

Can I import my existing calendar?

Yes. Flock supports importing from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and any calendar that exports .ics files. You can import a family member's existing calendar directly into their row, so you're not starting from zero.

Is my family's data private?

Completely. Flock does not use advertising, does not sell data, and does not share your family's schedule with third parties. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We're building a tool for your family — not an audience for advertisers.

Does Flock sync with my existing calendar?

Yes. Connect any iCal feed — Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Airbnb, sports league schedules. Flock syncs automatically in the background. Cancelled events disappear, rescheduled events update, and new events appear without you having to do anything.

What does wall display mode require?

An iPad, a power cable, and a way to mount it. Open Flock in Safari, go to wall display mode, and leave it running. It updates automatically whenever anything changes on any device.

Can grandparents or family members outside our household see our calendar?

Yes — this is what Multi-Flock is for. Share an invite code and anyone can follow your flock. Their Flock view shows your schedule alongside theirs in one unified calendar. They see exactly what you choose to share, and each flock stays fully independent. No other family calendar offers this.

What if two people edit the same event at once?

Flock uses real-time conflict resolution to handle simultaneous edits gracefully. The last saved version wins. You'll never end up with corrupted or duplicated events.
